“Where no counsel is the people fall, but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.” (Prov. 11: 14)
Counselling is the process of giving information or suggestions to other individuals, in order to help solve their problems. Any help in whatever form given to any individual can be referred to as counselling. In this light, Jesus Christ is the greatest counsellor for He is the greatest problem solver.
Living the Christian life is not much of a struggle to the Spirit filled and Spirit led believer. To have a good life, one must be born again have Jesus Christ as one’s personal Lord and Saviour. To remove strife and bitterness of lives, we encourage counselees to meditate on the word of God and trust God for beneficial outcomes in all circumstances.
Our objectives
(a) To encourage and support Christian brothers and sisters in
time of difficulties;
(b) To restore the dignity of a person by giving help based on the
biblical model/principles,
(c) To provide opportunity to pray with counselee over a situation or
problem/helping them turn to the unlimited resources of God.
(d) To provide listening ears thereby helping the hurting person to
release heavy hearts and to use everything for character building.
(e) To maintain and build Christian homes
(f) To raise Godly families.
Marriages suffer many pressures but never once must it enter a Christian’s mind that dissolving the marriage is an option. Our personal relationship with Christ Jesus must lead us to commitment and love for Him and others. The truth of the Bible in our hearts should make us able to withstand the hardship and pressures of life and prepare us for spiritual growth and a good warfare of the enemy of righteousness.
Christian counsellors do not want people to be eternally lost or physically destroyed by ignorance and problems; but enjoy abundant life in Christ Jesus. Counselees are therefore taught commitment, patience, and dependence on God; obedience to His will as the basic foundation for a good Christian home. As we study “Christ in the Home”, those things that augur well for peace and happiness, realistic expectations are taught and discussed. We encourage all – both married and yet to marry or once – married to avail themselves of the services of the ministry. We also appreciate new members to join the ministry.
Join us every 1st Sunday of the month.
The hotline for Counselling (08023322238) is available for those who are in need of prayers or counsel.
