Hospital Visiting/ Church Clinic.
The Hospital Visiting Ministry was inaugurated in 1989 by Ven. S. B. Akinola. The Ministry later started the Church Clinic on the 9th of April, 1992.
Our Aim is Evangelism through medical care.
Our Motto: “Heal me Oh Lord, and I shall be healed”
Our Objectives
a. Hospital visitation: To give patients hope, love, encouragement,
spiritual uplifting and supports
b. Evangelism and Outreach: To win souls for Christ, and create
preventive health care awareness.
c. Medical Care: To give free medical care to Church members and
Community regardless of religion or Church denomination.
d. Health Education & Counseling: To give educational talks on
preventive health care. Counsel and advise patient about their diet
and other matters as required.
Hospital Visiting
The ministry visit different hospitals in Lagos Island every second Sunday of the month, accompanied by the Chaplain attached to the Ministry, to praise worship and pray for the patients. Holy Communion is administered to communicants well enough to receive it. Patients are later presented with gifts of toiletries and financial assistant given to those in need.
Meetings
The Ministry holds monthly meeting every second Sunday of the month in the Church Clinic Conference room after the 8am Service.
The Church Clinic
The Church Clinic is well equipped, clean, and attractive. It is run by experienced Doctors, Nurses and Pharmacists. It is registered with the Lagos State Ministry of Health and a member of Lagos diocesan Medical Commission. The Clinic serves both members of the Church and community at large.
Clinic Days
Tuesdays: 2pm-6pm Emergency cases and clinic preparation for the
week.
Wednesday: 8:30am – 4pm Church workers, members, elders both
from the Church and other Anglican Churches.
Thursday: 2pm – 6pm Community health care with evangelism in
collaboration with the evangelical Ministry.
Sunday: 8am – 2pm Emergency cases during Church Services.
1st Monday of every Month: Evangelical Outreach, Healing, Testimony and
11am – 2pm. Health Education. Feeding the Community day.
Membership
The Clinic is blessed with Doctors, Nurses, Pharmacists and Non medical personnels working voluntarily for the Lord. It also enjoys the services of two full time Nurses.
Our Achievements
Achievements of the Ministry can not be quantified, but notable ones include:
1.Usage of the Clinic to win more souls for Christ as three of our patients gave their lives, and were baptized in this Church last year and one this years.
2.Early detection, treatment and referring cases on time to the appropriate specialist has saved numbers of lives.
3.Reaching out to the poor in other Anglican Churches through our activities in the diocesan Medical Commission.
Drugs & Equipments
The Church provides quarterly subvention for purchase of drugs. We also enjoy donations from Pharmaceutical Companies of Church members. Some of the Clinic equipments are also donated by members, while money from Easter Cake sales & donations are used in supporting our activities.
Conclusion
The Ministry is in need of more young Doctors, Nurses, Pharmacists, Laboratory Technicians & Non-Medical volunteers for the Church Clinic and the Diocesan Medical Commission. God bless you richly as you join the Ministry.
