GREETINGS AND FELICITATION

1. 1. All glory, honour and praises to God for His faithfulness and goodness that have hitherto preserved all of us. We welcome all our parishioners and other worshippers at this service. God will surround all of us with His presence and favour, and also steadily and with Divine speed fulfill His purposes in our lives and families in Jesus name.
   2. MOTHERING SUNDAY:-  We rejoice with all our women on the occassion of 2018 Mothering Sunday and pray that God would continue to strengthen them and bless all their endeavours in Jesus name. Our Sunday School Children, Youths, members of the Women’s & Girls’ Organizations, and   Men’s Christian Fellowship have entertained us in various ways, and we   pray that God would bless us all, and grant us more joyous years in the land of the living.
   3.  We welcome all those who are worshipping with us for the first time into our midst and pray that God will orchestrate new and unimaginable miracles in their lives and families.  We appeal that they should kindly wait briefly after the service to interact with the “WELCOME TEAM.” They are to exit the church through the door on the lectern side of the church.
   4. We congratulate and felicitate with all those who celebrate their birthdays, wedding anniversaries, and other landmark events this week. God will continue to protect and guide them. He will also sustain their joy and continue to be mindful of them and their desires and aspirations in Jesus name.

(c)    Mid-Week Holy Communion @ 7.15 a.m on Wednesdays

(e)  Women’s Guild Bible Study/Meeting @  4.00 p.m. on Wednesdays

(f)    Bible Study @ 3.00 p.m. & 6.00 p.m. on Fridays.

(g)  Overcomers’ Hour @ 8 – 10.00 a.m (1st Saturday of every month)

(h)   Divine Encounter  (monthly vigil) to start @  10.00 p.m.  (Last Fridays)

(i)    Bible School @ 9.00 a.m. – 11 a.m every Saturday from February 17, 2018.

(j)    Men’s Christian Fellowship @ 10.00 a.m. on the 3rd Saturday of every month.

All those who are concerned should please endeavour to attend punctually.

3. SECURITY OF MEMBERS
   • a) Members are implored to use the car park that we paid for at the Tafawa Balewa Square directly behind our church building every Sunday. We wish to ensure adequate security during all our programmes and activities. Security operatives will be more effective if there is free movement in the compound.
   • b) We also appeal that we should all cooperate with and obey the security personnel because they are working for our good.
   • c) Please all worshippers are sensitized to be vigilant during services and other activities and they should not leave their personal belongings unattended because of hoodlums that may be mingling with us.
4. OUR SPIRITUALITY: For us to have improved and guaranteed Spiritual growth this year, as mentioned earlier, we have decided to introduce Bible School which is going to be of maximum three hours per week. To also ensure convenience for all our members and other interested people from outside, we have put in on Saturdays at 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. in the chapel.    There will be homework and two exams and we shall receive certificate at the end of the exercise, will last for seven weeks. This will also impact on our finances and other expectations as well.

7. MONTHLY BAPTISM:  Our baptism holds every first Saturday of the  month.  Please plan to key into this, as your preferred date could clash with other programmes and can lead to rejection of your date.
8. SPECIAL OCCASSIONAL PAMPHLET /PROGRAMME: Henceforth, approval in respect of order of service for special programmes such as weddings, burials, birthdays, service of songs, commendations etc must first be collected from the Vicar before further action. Members should please note and comply.
9. DRESSING OF BRIDES AND OTHER MEMBERS OF THE BRIDAL TRAIN DURING WEDDING SERVICES: We use this medium to appeal to all parents and guardians whose children (daughters or daughters-in-law) will be getting married to teach them the dignity of decent dressing, especially during wedding services. By decent dressing, we mean that the wedding  gowns and other wedding dresses should cover the entire body. Any indecent dressings  during such occasions will be frowned at and the clergy will not take kindly to  it. This is a very important notice that must be taken seriously by all our parishioners and other worshippers because we will not compromise the Word of God for any reason.

 

INFORMATION FROM CHURCH OF NIGERIA

1. EPISCOPAL SYNOD OF THE CHURCH OF NIGERIA (Anglican Communion)  FEBRUARY 7, 2018.

       ELECTION OF A SUCCESSOR BISHOP TO LAGOS DIOCESE

A statement by the Church’s Episcopal Secretary, The Rt.. Revd. David O.C. Onuoha said:

“The election was held in four other dioceses at the Cathedral Church of St. Barnabas, Ilorin, Kwara Diocese, in accordance with the Church’s laid down rules and regulations.  It was free, fair and credible.

A total of 161 bishops participated in the election and pursuant to the provisions of Canon V of the Constitution and Canons of the Church of Nigeria 1997 (as amended), candidates were nominated after advice from the diocese, which favoured translation was circulated and read.

The procedure before every election in the House of Bishops is to appoint a team of returning officers to collate the results.  This was strictly followed with the Rt. Revd. Sosthenes Eze, Bishop of Enugu North Diocese, leading eight other Bishops to perform this sacred duty.

According to the statement, The MostRevd Michael Fape and Rt. Revd. Humphrey Olumakaiye, constested the election after their nomination.

It explained that only Fape and Olumakaiye were duly nominated and seconded by members of the house without any objections, adding that after the voting by secret ballot, Fape scored 51, while Olumakaiye scored 109.  One member was absent at the election.

DIOCESAN ELDERS FELLOWSHIP FAITH CLINIC: The monthly Elders’ Fellowship Faith Clinic on the last Thursday of every month will not hold this month because it fell on MAUNDY THURSDAY.

2. 2018 ANNUAL DUES: All women are reminded of the payment of Mothers’ Union & Women’s Guild annual dues of N2,000= each. Kindly see the Vicar’s wife or any of the Curates wives for the payment.
3. WIDOWS’ WELFARE FUND: Kindly donate towards the Fund established to assist the widows of this church and God would visit you and all yours.

OTHER INFORMATION FROM OUR PARISH

1. WEDNESDAY LENTEN SERVICE comes up on every Wednesday at 6.00 pm. Please be at all the services and God will bless you.
2. MID-DAY PRAYERS DURING LENTEN SEASON: There will be mid-day prayers (12 noon – 1.00 p.m) from Mondays to Fridays in our church throughout the Lenten period. Please pray for the grace to be there. There will always be a clergyman to lead us.
3. BIBLE SCHOOL: Our Bible Study still continues every Saturday 9.00am – 12 Noon. Those that have fully registered for this season should note and attend punctually.
4. INDUCTION OF 2018/ 2019 PCC MEMBERS:-  The swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected and appointed PCC members comes up next Sunday, 18th March, 2018 during the 8.00 am service. Those concerned should please note and attend promptly.
5. OVERCOMERS’ HOUR:-  Our Overcomers’ Hour has now been changed from 1st Day of every month to the 1st Saturday of the moth from 8 – 10am with lots of prayers, deliverance, anointing etc.
6. MONTHLY THANKSGIVING OF THE CHURCH:-  All members should     please note that we shall be having monthly thanksgiving on the last Sunday of every month to appreciate God’s mercy and blessings upon us.
7. HOSPITAL VISITING MINISTRY/CHURCH CLINIC MEETING: Date: Today, immediately after the 9.00 am. Joint Service. All members should please, note and attend promptly.
8. PARISH ELDERS FELLOWSHIP MEETING: The monthly meeting of the Elders Fellowship of Our Saviour’s Church, T.B.S, Lagos will be held on Wednesday, 14th March, 2018 in the Chapel Extension at 10.00 am prompt. All elders of the church of 65 years and above are cordially invited.
9. ADMISSION FROM INTO JS ONE BABINGTON MACAULAY   JUNIOR SEMINARY: The admission form into the above-named Junior Seminary is now on sale in this church at the Admin’s Office. Payment of N10,000.00  (Ten thousand Naira Only) should be made into Zenith Bank Plc: Babington Macaulay Junior Seminary Account No: 1012883577. The teller would be used to obatain the form. Kindly liaise with the Admin. Manager for details. The closing date for the submission of form is 31st May, 2018 while the Examination date will be the 2nd of June, 2018.

13. APPRECIATION FROM:
    • (a) Mrs. Tinuade Ihama:-  The family of  late Amb Edwin Ihama   wish to express sincere gratitude to the Vicar and his wife, all the Curates and their wives, members of the Elders’ Fellowship and entire members of the church for the expression of sympathy, support, presence, prayers and generous gifts towards the final rites of Amb.     • (b) Mrs. ‘Bunmi Adeniji:-  This is to express sincere gratitude on behalf of the family of the late Amb. Oluyemi Adeniji, to the Vicar and his wife, the Curates and their wives and the members of Our Saviour’s Church, TBS for your prayers, love, concern, visits and phone calls during my husband’s ill-health until he peacefully went to be with the Lord and throughout the burial ceremonies.  May God, our Father, bless and keep you all and grant you long life in good health, joy peace in Jesus name.
