THE YOUTH CHURCH
Our Saviour’s Youth Church was established in 2008 under the Chaplaincy of the Rev. Ify John Nriama. It caters for the peculiar needs of the youths of the church. The Youth Church services hold regularly on Sundays and it has a growing population of youths between the ages of thirteen and thirty-five. To enable the youths also interact with the main church, the youths worship with the adults on the second Sunday of every month for Bible Studies. The activities of the church are handled by the youths themselves, involving departments like ushering, music, drama, technical set-up, and the like. The chaplain in the charge of the Youth Church is The Reverend OreOluwa Agbelusi who gives spiritual direction to the youths.
Sermons in the Youth Church are delivered in a youth-friendly manner. These sermons are fashioned to be participatory and tailored for the youths. The Youth Church services feature interesting activities: dramas are presented in the services once in two months, songs are rendered weekly by the choir. The youth congregation is involved in taking the readings and coordinating the “Testimonies and Special Numbers” segment. This allows the youths to openly give account of what God has done in their lives, providing encouragement for those who need it and an opportunity for interaction and better association.
In the Youth Church, Communion services holds on third Sunday of every month. On other Sundays, the services follow the Mattins order of service. The youths also celebrate some other services with the adult church such as Rogation, Harvests, Mothering Sundays and Testimonies and Healing services. The church welcomes everyone and it sometimes hosts adult members.
We look forward to having our number increased as God strengthens us with his power and grace.
