SUB THEME: The people to reign with Him.
TOPIC: The battle of battles.
TEXT: Rev 19:11-21; 20:7 – 10.
AIMS:
(i) To challenge and encourage Christian to know Satan will be defeated;
(ii) To help them learn a lesson from Satan’s defeat;
(iii) To show that Jesus is the King over all.
INTRODUCTION: The battle of battles reveals the end time war in heaven between the Angels of God and the demonic forces under Satan’s leadership. The battle shows how unrelenting Satan is; how much he is deluded to think that he will conquer the armies of God and unseat God. His present human agents are behaving no less than him. They will all end as their master in the name of Jesus Christ.
Questions for Discussion:
- Read Rev 19:11 – 21. Compare the armies with their weapons engaged in the battle. Who reigns supreme?
- Why did Satan initiate this battle? Rev 20:7 – 10? Rev 19:8, 9a; Ezek 39:6, 7; Psa. 110:1, 2.
- What do we learn from the crush of this vast army? Zach 4:6; Rom 8:31.
- What was the ultimate advantage of this battle and the defeat of Satan? Rev 20:10, 11.
- What is your personal response to Him who reign? Do you have your confidence in Him in spite of Satan’s present bluff?
CONCLUSION: There will be a series of battles that will culminate in the battle of battles. Your victory or otherwise in the personal or corporate battles will depend on which army you join at the battle of battles. Purpose in your heart to file behind the King of kings in the battle of battles. Meanwhile, learn to endure hardship and fight gallantly all your brethren all over the world doing.
